Introduction
Allegis Group and its network of specialized companies provide a full suite of complementary talent solutions to solve nearly every workforce challenge. They connect great people to great opportunities, empower business success and helping candidates reach their career goals.
As a Lead UX Designer at Allegis I focused on the strategy and UX architecture of the recruiter facing platform, Connected, and their talent facing platform, Communities.
I have also supported the growth and maturity of the UX team, working to define the UX practice in a young SAFe Agile environment, coaching both designers and cross-functional team members on best practices.

Design Thinking Discovery Workshop
"A wonderful interface solving the wrong problem will fail"
- Jakob Nielson
NN/g Nielson Norman Group
The Problem:
Every technology manager at the companies under Allegis Group believes they have the next great solution to transform the way recruiters source and nurture talent. They all believe these revolutionary ideas need to have ideal state implemented immediately.
The (Ongoing) Solution:
To shift Allegis Group's culture from an on-demand feature factory to a design thinking mindset that fosters innovation.
One of the most successful efforts has been design thinking discovery sessions where I work with stakeholders to:
-
Brainstorm all problems and pain points.
-
Prioritize based on importance vs. urgency.
-
Define details and scope of the highest priority.
-
Ideate specific and innovative solutions.
I have won over even the grouchiest technology managers through:
-
Education on design thinking and its business value.
-
Listening & validation of their experiences.
-
Documenting their knowledge and expertise.
-
Define the root problem(s) behind their feature ideas.
-
Data driven decisions using real metrics.
-
Deliver targeted and innovative solution ideas.
-
Drive iterative value by proposing quick MVPs followed by continual improvements.
